ALASKA’S NORTHERN LIGHTS
Treacherous driving conditions and below freezing temperatures make traveling to Alaska in February and March not for the faint of heart. But the ultimate reward is getting to witness and photograph the mesmerizing northern lights. Zarita and I embarked in two of Joe Garza’s Photography trips that included areas around Fairbanks and north of the arctic circle up the Dalton Highway to Coldfoot Camp, Wiseman, the Brooks Range and even farther north over Antigun Pass all the way to Prudhoe Bay. This was a bucklist adventure and although mother nature has the final say with the weather, Joe Garza and Nick Selway seemed to find a way to get us to the clearest skies to witness the aurora borealis most nights.
