GOVERNORS BASIN-IMOGENE ROAD-YANKEE BOY BASIN

 

Governors Basin Located in the Uncompahgre National Forest features Gorgeous high-elevation scenery, incredible wildflowers and standing mine buildings including the Mountain Top mine at 12,338' and the Virginias Mine.  most noticeable is that you are surrounded by a very jagged and rough ridge of peaks called the Saint Sophia Ridge.    

IMOGENE ROAD

 

Imogene Road #869 is an off-highway vehicle route that links the Colorado towns of Telluride and Ouray. It is a challenging road that traverses over Imogene Pass at 13,114'. The road was still closed on June 15, 2016 due to snow so i walked the route to enjoy the massive waterfalls.

YANKEE BOY BASIN

 

Yankee Boy basin is an alpine basin located in the Uncompahgre National Forest. It is well renowned for its display of wildflowers during the spring and for Twin Falls on Sneffels Creek. On June 15, 2016, there was still lots of snow on the ground.
